Building Confidence – Changing Lives

When the campus is closed due to the coronavirus crisis, the learning and community engagement continued. We are a traditional boarding school with non-traditional approaches to college-preparatory learning. For us, teaching is personal. The conversion to online instruction was not something we could have ever predicted, but because we know our students so well, we were able to continue to provide instruction that connects with their unique skills and personalities. We have the flexibility to react to their needs, interests, and strengths in order to create exceptional learning experiences that empower and engage–even through virtual learning platforms. This flexibility means that everyone in our community—from students to faculty to administration—experiences the freedom of thought and expression that brings meaning to everything we do.

We have recently re-introduced on-campus visits.  Schedule an appointment to tour our beautiful mountain-top campus and meet with Admission staff.

Upcoming Admission Event:

'Mountain Talk' Virtual Info Session

Wednesday, August 19, 6:00 pm

Join Head of School Blythe Everett P'14, '16, and Director of Admission Maureen Smith for a virtual preview of The Marvelwood School. Hear from faculty, parents, and students, and learn why our intentionally small learning environment is an excellent choice for all types of learners. Fully and safely reopening in September.

We believe in opportunity without compromise. During a time when specialization is the norm, we choose to create, instead, a culture of balance that makes space for our students to explore their varied passions and, perhaps, be inspired by new ones. At Marvelwood, you don't have to choose between being an athlete or an artist, between community service or chorus, between rock band or rock climbing; you can simply enjoy experiencing what inspires you.

Why I Love Physics

Who benefits from a small school experience?  Everyone.

At Marvelwood, our size enables us to get to know each student and embark on a journey together to discover hidden talents, develop skills and interests, and build confidence for a lifetime of purposeful learning.  We are deeply dedicated to knowing and valuing our students, celebrating their individuality and challenging them to invest in their education and discover new passions.  We deliver a customized approach to learning that is responsive to student interests and supports and empowers them to move forward with courage in college, career, and life.

We are happy to schedule a customized virtual or on-campus visit.  We can show you around campus, answer your questions, arrange video calls with students, parents, faculty, and/or coaches, and do an admission interview.
